Today is our 40th Anniversary
Somewhere in time makes no practical sense of course. Still I love the movie. The music is a big part of the movie. It actually compliments the plot line and the mood.
I have a I-Pod that has my favorite songs on it and the when I hear it start with "in the arms of an angel" I just go back to the movie. I like the song, the words, and I like the movie. As the movie ends I like how he wouldn't have traded his brief moments nor would he want to go back. Life he found in those brief moments in part but he found how good life is and a lot of good reasons confirmed it for him.
Peggy Sue is so cool. She is the center of this movie. Even so it is easy to look at the movie and find people in it that you might see yourself in or people you know in.
This is a great picture. He thought he had a dream when he was young. They both knew who the "Big Bopper" was and it wasn't a hamburger.
If you look you may see a Pattern in my blogs
Like the picture above you may find an arrangement of lines, shapes and colors. The best place to find a pattern of words is in a poem. Scriptures have them. Patterns help reinforce thoughts. A poem or a good scripture will speak to you differently each time you read it. Sometimes the message from space appears very different than it does from earth looking up. Sometimes it seems the same.
No real good reason to put a book by Hemingway on this blog.
It is not in my top 250 books. In fact I don't like Hemingway. I don't much like Mark Twain either but at least he has some interesting things to say.
I do like a quote by the author and writer Harold Bloom about Hemingway. He said of him that "Hemingway's stories "illustrate a technique in search of a subject"
( hope my blogs have done better than that with you)
