The only "True" Duck, and he doesn't lie...............

Dad liked the cartoon shows
and the funny papers

It's my dad that I am talking about here. His last few years he lived alone. He had a TV in his bedroom. He for years watched late night TV. Cartoons was something he liked. He would laugh out loud at the stuff on the cartoons. He liked the older cartoons. Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and so on. The Road Runner got smashed over and over and Dad would always laugh. In some ways what you think is funny is revealing. Then too what you admit you think is funny says a lot too.

It is hard to imagine someone who would sit up late alone and laugh at Daffy Duck telling a lie.

Guess Shakespeare saw that

To thine own self be true, then it followed that that man could not be false to any man.

Why is that ya suppose....................

Folks really sacrifice a lot in order to be true to themselves. The folks portrayed in Les Miserables stop up for what they felt they had to in order to be true to themselves.
Still, why is it that being true to oneself means one won't lie to any man?
A lie reflects what isnt' true. The reflection comes from somewhere. Being true to oneself might mean admitting who you are.
A guy who will admit that he likes cartoons has a pretty good start
What reflects from him is 'true"
I guess the best thing to do now would be to confess that I too like cartoons and Daffy Duck is my idea of a good time. Wish it were true. If I listed the things I like to do it would perhaps not be as clear as to whether I am a good candidate for one who is really true to himself. I like to run, or walk with Kathy, or go out to eat when the food is really really good, or to a good show, or to the flea market and just walk with Kathy through all the stuff, or to get an email from someone who is checking in , or to find something new to think about, or find something previously wondered about sort of answered. I like it a lot when I see Shakespeare in Daffy Duck and both of them in my Dad.

Daffy Duck makes me laugh also :)

I think it is neat that Grandpa laughed at cartoons.
