Gordon B. Hinckley wrote a very good book called "Stand For Something". He said in the introduction of chapter 4 about
*
"Our Fading Civility"
*
Civility carries with it the essence
0f courtesy, politeness,
and consideration of others.
All of the education and
accomplishments in the world
will not count for much
unless they are accompanied by
marks of gentility,of respect for
others, of going the extra mile.
*
PS: The importance of treating people with respect is even better understood if one has occasion to feel that one was not treated particularly nice. Sad way to learn. I was impressed by the messages in the book, "Stand for Someting".
